Chelsea Manning Wichita Eagle

"A lawyer for an intelligence analyst charged with leaking classified information to the anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks wants to question Secretary of State Hillary Clinton before his client is tried. David Coombs, a lawyer for Pfc. Bradley Manning, included a request to question Clinton as part of a redacted document posted Monday on his website and also sent to Army officials. Clinton's name is obscured in the document, but it is clear from context that she is the person he wants to question." (01/16/12)

The Raw Story

"For ardent supporters of Hillary Clinton, the dream of her becoming president still runs very deep. According to the Huffington Post, robocalls from a group called 'Run Hilary 2012' have been received in New York and North Carolina. The group’s website has a petition saying, 'Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton should be the Democratic Party’s 2012 Presidential nominee.' The website has no contact information, only saying that it is a 'project of the 99%.'" [editor's note: And so it begins, with still about 8 months to the Dem convention; why should the GOPers have all the fun? - SAT] (12/19/11)

The case for a Clinton-Biden switch

The American Prospect
by Paul Starr

"Shortly before the Democratic National Convention opens in Charlotte, North Carolina, next September 3, Barack Obama should announce that he has asked Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to join him on the ticket as the vice-presidential candidate, and Vice President Joe Biden to become secretary of state in his second term -- and that both of them have agreed. A Clinton-Biden switch can improve the odds of a Democratic victory at a time when economic conditions would make re-election difficult for any president." (11/07/11)

Hillary in 2012?

New York Post

"With poll after poll showing President Obama’s prospects sinking along with the economy, wild scenarios suddenly pop up in conversations. Some Democrats, for example, believe there is a small but growing chance the president will pull a Lyndon Johnson and decide not to seek re-election. Then there’s the perennial Hillary guessing game." [editor's note: Add this to the Nader scenario, and (as with MLB) we could have a Dem "wild card race" after all - SAT] (09/26/11)
