Afghanistan: Soldier killed in suicide attack

"The governor of Afghanistan's eastern Paktika province says an Afghan army soldier has been killed in a suicide bombing. A statement released Wednesday from the governor's office said that two other soldiers and five civilians were also wounded in the attack, which occurred on Tuesday in the province's Barmal district." Pakistan: Attack on NATO truck kills one

"At least one person has been killed and two others wounded as Pakistani militants attacked two NATO supply vehicles transporting fuel destined for US-led forces in Afghanistan. A group of unidentified armed men fired shots at the two oil tankers in Landi Kotal district of the border Torkham town on Wednesday morning. A driver was killed and two others sustained injuries in the attack, local police officials told Press TV. Gunmen also set the tankers ablaze." (12/29/10)

"Suicide bombers killed at least 17 people at government headquarters in western Iraq's Anbar province Monday, in the second attack in less than a month, security sources said. A car bomb exploded at a checkpoint just yards from the main gate to the compound in Ramadi, the provincial capital. Pakistan: Dozens die in suicide bombing

"At least 40 people have died after a suicide bomb on a large crowd receiving food aid in north-west Pakistan. The blast took place in the town of Khar in the Bajaur region, in tribal areas close to the Afghan border -- a Taliban and al-Qaeda stronghold. About 1,000 people displaced by fighting had been receiving food at a distribution centre. Reports say at least another 50 people have been injured and the death toll could rise." (12/25/10)

"A NATO helicopter opened fire on a convoy of cars heading to an event hosted by the head of a local council Thursday, killing a police officer and the brother of a lawmaker, provincial officials in northern Afghanistan said. ... the helicopter strafed one car in the convoy, killing a policeman and Mohammad Aminuddin, the brother of former parliament member Sarajuddin Mozafari.
