"Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander introduced a bill Wednesday that would let states collect sales tax on items sold online, a measure that could bring Tennessee about $400 million next year. ... 'It’s a states’ rights issue. It gives the state of Tennessee the right to decide how to collect or not to collect its own state sales tax,' Alexander said." [editor's note: States' rights?
