"The fact that many people have benefited from an institution has epistemic relevance: it tells me that there’s some good from it, that it maybe shouldn’t be lightly cast aside, that there are benefits to keep count of in my balance of reasons. But the fact that I’m one of the people who has benefited in an unasked-for, inadvertent way doesn’t have direct moral relevance." (10/26/11)
