America’s military spending is foreign aid — cut it

"There are lots of reasons to favor cutting foreign aid, but its impact on the current fiscal shortfall is not one of them. We could zero out foreign assistance tomorrow, and it would not help our predicament one bit. There's a different way of looking at the problem that holds more promise, however: Much of America's military spending constitutes a perverse form of foreign aid." (10/11/11)
