"Gov. Bill Haslam announced an agreement with Amazon in which the online giant will begin collecting sales taxes on Tennessee customers in 2014 in exchange for state support for its expansion plans. The announcement comes three days after Tennessee Attorney General Robert Cooper said in an opinion that online retailers should have to collect sales taxes if they open warehouses or distribution centers in Tennessee, citing the state’s existing tax laws."
