"A National Geographic reporter complains about the 'Carbon Footprint' of 'illegal drugs,' citing a statistoid from U.S. National Lab researcher Evan Mills, who claims that growing marijuana 'wastes' $5 Billion of electricity per year (allegedly 1% of the total U.S. power output, or the output of 7 large power plants), in order to power grow-lamps, ventilation equipment, etc. ... the article completely ignores the fact that indoor Pot Growers would not be forced to go to such 'wasteful' extremes if it were not for the fact that U.S. Gov't Officials have declared their product an 'illegal controlled substance' ..."
