"Should schoolchildren be required to receive the three-course vaccination against HPV, the sexually-transmitted infection that causes 12,000 cases of cervical cancer each year? ... Rick Perry was absolutely right on Monday when he said, 'What was driving me was, obviously, making a difference about young people's lives. Cervical cancer is a horrible way to die.' It's important to point out, however, that as uninformed as Bachmann's critique of Perry has been, there is no broad consensus on whether HPV vaccination should be mandatory." (09/14/11)
