"According to the latest figures from the U.S. Census Bureau, the state of New York spent $18,126 in education costs per student in the year 2009, a sum which is above the national average by far. Yet 38 percent of New York schools fell short of the educational goals set under federal education laws -- far below the national average. Instead of teaching kids how to put on a condom, they should be teaching them how to read." (08/21/11)
