"I’m reminded of a talk I went to a few months ago by a very well-known and successful entrepreneur. A guy in the audience asked for advice on how to take into account tax issues when structuring a small business. The speaker said 'You don’t pay taxes until you have a profit to pay taxes on. The biggest problem with most new businesses is that they don’t have a strategy that will make them profitable. Figure out what you need to do to make your product and get customers, then worry about the taxes on that profit.'" (06/29/11)
