"A retired U.S. Army major pleaded guilty Monday to accepting $250,000 in bribes for contracts to supply bottled water to American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Derrick Shoemake, 49, entered pleas to two bribery counts in federal court in Los Angeles, the Department of Justice said. Shoemake was in charge of coordinating and accepting delivery of bottled water to troops in Iraq when he served at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait in 2005 and 2006." (06/13/11)
