"The need for infrastructure is one of the biggest challenges in moving a project toward development. If you’ve discovered a new gas field, you need a pipeline to take that gas to market. If you’ve developed a way to tap into the tidal currents at a narrow pass, you need a transmission line to connect your power to the grid. And if you’ve discovered a mineral deposit, you need a road and an electrical connection to power the massive crushers, grinders, and pumps involved in extracting the mineral from rock. Of course, resources often turn up not where it’s convenient but in the middle of nowhere." (06/07/11)
