"The Supreme Court today upheld an Arizona law penalizing companies that hire illegal immigrants [sic] .... The law permits the state to take away the business licenses of companies that knowingly hire illegal workers. It also requires employers to use an otherwise optional federal verification program, known as the E-Verify system, which collects data on workers from the Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security." [editor's note: In other words, every Arizona employer has been conscripted as an unpaid agent of Immigrations and Customs enforcement. So much for the 13th Amendment - TLK] (05/26/11)
