"Violence erupted in different parts of Pakistan's financial hub Karachi on Monday, after a key leader of the Mutthaida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was killed in one of the city's busiest roads. Armed men forced shopkeepers, petrol pumps and other businesses to shut down in many parts of the city, where at two people were killed and some vehicles torched during the violence. Farooq Baig, a member of the MQM central organising committee, was shot dead by unknown assailants on Shah Faisal road today." (05/02/11)
