Ex-CEO to pay $27 million civil fine in Medicare mail fraud

"The founder of a Mequon company that sells special shoes and inserts for diabetics has agreed to plead guilty to mail fraud and pay a $27 million civil fine related to the company's improper Medicare reimbursements. Rickey Kanter, the former CEO of Dr. Comfort, also could face prison time; federal prosecutors will recommend 18 months, according to an announcement from the U.S. attorney's office in Milwaukee."
