"Every year the federal budget process allows members of Congress to try to starve financially the Environmental Protection Agency and other agencies that oversee America’s natural resources. The effort has special impetus this year due to the rise of the Tea Party as a significant element in American politics and our collective recognition that we need to deal with the enormous federal debt. As federal agencies brace for severe budget cuts, politicians should put down their lances and begin working together in a productive manner to improve our environmental and public health systems while reducing our expenditures. One way is to get rid of redundancies." (03/30/11)
