"Military commanders in Afghanistan are launching an initiative in March to ferret out criminals and infiltrators from Afghan security forces. The move follows attacks that have killed seven U.S. servicemembers since late November. The goal, according to a document obtained by USA TODAY, is to check the soldiers and police officers against databases that track criminal activity and record their biometric data such as retinal scans."
