"A New Hampshire lawmaker is proposing a resolution to declare the state’s opposition to a company’s effort to trademark the name Mount Washington. Florida-based CNL Lifestyle Properties, which owns the Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, has applied to trademark the name for lodging purposes, saying it wants to ensure that the historic brand and name of the 108-year-old hotel is protected. The mountain itself is a natural landmark, said the sponsor, Republican Representative Gene Chandler of Bartlett." (02/17/11)
