"The Indian military said it carried out 'surgical strikes' Thursday to stop planned attacks by suspected militants in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir. The Pakistani military said two of its soldiers were killed and nine were wounded. It denied there had been any 'surgical strikes.' ... 'There had been cross border fire initiated and conducted by India which is (an) existential phenomenon. Pakistani troops befittingly responded to Indian unprovoked firing,' the Pakistani military said in a statement. 'The notion of surgical strike linked to alleged terrorists' bases is an illusion being deliberately generated by India to create false effects,' it said. The incident comes after an attack on an Indian army base in Kashmir on Sept. 18 killed 18 soldiers. India blames Pakistan." (09/29/16)
