"The merciful end to the college football season means at least a temporary reprieve from nonstop media complaining about the BCS, the corruption and hypocrisy of college football, and the annual pleas to the antitrust gods to bring us a playoff. Lost in all the scandals and the hand-wringing is a very simple truth: The problems of major college athletics is directly tied to the dominance of government-run institutions." (01/11/11)
