"[I]f I have an idea which carries some degree of value or truth, obviously my not uttering it prevents others from hearing it. My desire to avoid sounding stupid and alienating myself from others prevents me from making use of something which might benefit few or many. On the other hand, if my idea is harmful, it's also less likely that it will be extinguished. If I don't tell anyone my bad idea, they can't provide me with the information which would be necessary to categorize it as a stupid idea." (01/10/11)
