"The Senate stepped closer to approving the START treaty Tuesday, with 67 senators voting to tee up a final vote to ratify the nuclear arms pact before Christmas Eve. The procedural vote to break a GOP filibuster on the bill needed 60 votes to move forward. Final ratification will require two-thirds of the senators present." (12/21/10)
