"Top Pentagon officials on Tuesday underscored their support for the Lockheed Martin Corp F-35 fighter, saying they would try to protect funding for the most expensive U.S. weapons program despite continued U.S. budget uncertainty and cost over-runs. The $396 billion program is already seven years behind schedule and 70 percent over initial cost estimates." &#;editor's note: Yet another example of how screwed up the Pentagon actually is, fighting desperately to save a plane Lockheed can't even seem to produce, and which will be useless for future "defense" of anything except the sagging USA Inc. global empire - SAT] [additional editor's note: It's not really screwed up if you consider that the primary goal is to transfer money from your pockets to Lockheed Martin's bank account; the utility of the aircraft is a secondary consideration at best - TLK] (03/12/13)
